A lot of people who aren't as experienced with makeup assume that they should use blue eyeliner and blue shadows to accent their blue eyes. The old rule from the 70's and 80's about never having enough blue shadow is long gone. Blue shadows and even liner, if not done by a professional, tend to dull your eyes, camoflauge them, and drown them out.
If you really want to make people notice your blue eyes then you should try more neutrals, pinks, browns, even golds and purples. I do often use a blue liner (sparingly & lightly) but I really wanted to try a plum color.
I had a favorite plum color years ago that was Clinique BUT it irritated my eyes too much. Their pencils are too rough to draw on and their smooth glide ones always irritate my eyes.
Science has shown that we with blue eyes make up only 17% of the world's population and have a loss of pigment in our eyes. This loss of pigment is the cause for our eyes being more sensitive to allergens, chemicals, etc. If you are like me, you likely use eye drops every day.
I decided to try this plum color by Arbonne because it was on special and because of my knowledge of all Arbonne products being pure, clean & even vegan. This eyeliner doesn't even contain animal byproducts.
The first thing I noticed is that it is very smooth & easy to apply. It goes on very light so I had to go a bit heavier than my other eyeliners but that is a good thing. That means this would be ideal for a teenager just learning to apply makeup or an older women with eye sensitivites and not used to wearing a lot of makeup. It's easier to add more but with other products that are so heavy at first (if you've ever had to buy Wet N Wild or other grocery store products in a pinch then you'll know what I am talking about, VERY heavy), and when products are too heavy then I spend more money in eye makeup remover trying to fix it & get the "racoon face" off my eyes.
This is perfect. It is also a lovely neutral that is perfect for any professional work environment, job interviews, etc.
So far I have not experienced ANY irritation or sensitivity to this (and normally I experience irritation right away with other products). I love how light this is.
I am absolutely loving this and a huge fan. What do you think?
